Hi! I’m Drew Gibson, D.C.

I am BC born-and-raised, a lover of the outdoors, endurance sport enthusiast, and chiropractor! I graduated from Trinity Western University with a Bachelor of Human Kinetics in Kinesiology. During my time at TWU, I served as part of the student athletic therapy team, providing care for the elite varsity athletic teams, including the men’s soccer, men’s ice hockey, and men’s and women’s cross-country and track & field teams. Throughout my education, I quickly developed a passion for learning the complexity of the human body and working with both recreational and competitive athletes. This opened up several opportunities for me, including completing a summer internship with the Vancouver Whitecaps FC development teams, serving as part of their medical team. I currently work with the Coquitlam Express Jr. A Hockey Club (BCHL) as part of the medical team, providing chiropractic care and emergency support during home games.

My desire to continue to provide hands-on non-invasive care lead me to explore the profession of chiropractic, which brought me to Portland, Oregon where I concurrently obtained my Bachelor of Science in Human Biology and Doctor of Chiropractic degrees, graduating Cum Laude from the University of Western States. I am trained in the assessment, diagnosis, and conservative treatment of musculoskeletal conditions for a variety of lifestyles. I have a specific passion for working with recreational athletes (“weekend warriors”) and office workers. I incorporate the use of both spinal and extra-spinal forms of chiropractic manipulation, various soft tissue techniques, and rehabilitative exercises as my typical forms of treatment in conjunction with patient education to assist in understanding what is going on, and why.

I have been involved in a variety of high competitive sports throughout my life, most notably in swimming, track & field/cross country running, and ice hockey. I strongly believe in both the physical and psychological importance of maintaining an active lifestyle. These days I spend most of my free time outdoors with my wife Annie and dog Maggie either hiking, relaxing or exploring new places. You can also usually find me running, cycling, or swimming as I have been slowly entering into the sport of triathlon. I prides myself on being personable, approachable and knowledgeable. I strive to help all individuals move more, hurt less, and maintain a healthy active lifestyle.

My Approach to Chiropractic

Simply put, my goal is to help you move more & hurt less.

As a doctor of chiropractic, I primarily work with musculo-skeletal issues including but not limited to sprains & strains, headaches, neck & back pain, and extremity pain (shoulders, wrists, knees, ankles, etc.). As a health care professional, my role is to place your health and well-being first; therefore, I am able to communicate with other health care professionals and physicians ensure that you are receiving the appropriate care by the appropriate professional in order to meet your health goals.

I primarily utilize my hands as my main treatment tool to performing chiropractic adjustments to the joints, and soft-tissue treatments for the muscles, tendons and ligaments. Additionally, I spend time with each patient teaching corrective rehabilitative exercises, to strengthen the weaker areas of the body in which you are experiencing discomfort, and to re-train the body into stabilizing itself in order to prevent this issue from re-surfacing again later on.

I understand that many people are nervous or have anxiety about chiropractic treatment, so I aim to educate my patients about what is going on and why, provide a thorough explanation of the various treatment options, and work together to provide you with a safe and effective treatment plan that will work for you. I would describe my chiropractic treatment style as gentle, thorough, and hand-on, but it is always adapting to individual patient needs and preferences.
